how quickly some place can
get used to you
I don't even look up anymore
for lack of surprise          it's not
ownership it's mundanity when
motions past the same angels
in the architecture lack
spark          how easily it is we
forget to be wide-eyed
until a piece of our past
catches up—ho ho!  And
we connect the driving
forces and say yes, I have
another life—like a star trek episode
          Jean Luc Picard almost
          dies in surgery, lives a
          complete life in the meantime
only to wake up to remember
          he's someone else
what a gyp,  my ex-husband said
I was secretly shocked—to
          be given such an opportunity
for 2 lives and recall both?
According to aura law we are
attracted to each other's magentas
out here          what makes us
stray from the farm makes
this hodge-podge of weary
travelers my family          what
in the end brought me
enough peace so that I
could return home.
