August, 2003 New Yorkers seem to have a special way of surviving. Is that of any consequence to me? I suppose not. It's been a whole year since Vernazza. With such vivid recollections, it seems sooner. last night at SPLab. not shutting down, but can't afford the rent and moving to Grady's around the corner. so many faces and memories for Danika; kids who grew up, people who moved on. poor Charlie Sutherland was there called his missing leg "a small price to pay for being alive." what a shame to leave behind a place fixed up perfectly, and sound proofed to boot.
