once summer comes to a close
and the attorneys have all been paid
   and all services rendered null and voice
      there's a punchline come, i just know it

we all want to scream at the stupidity
     of the time being wasted
  but being in charge, one must endure.
      one must endure

stillness, no matter how still
     seems to have noise.
then, there is no such thing as
        still.
