The Polly Papers:  3:15
August 2003

This year I played an experiment inside of an experiment.  I was working on a screenplay last August during the 3:15 writings.  My protagonist's name was Polly.  I thought that perhaps I could tap into some interesting (and useful) part of Polly's subconscious if I wrote about her during the 3:15 Experiment.  What emerged was a combination of her story, my story, and images from my 1/2 dream state.  The titles were also spontaneous 3:15 creations, each one located by either an "interior" or "exterior" perspective.

I'm rather intrigued by the way these turned out.  I like the continuity of having a 3rd party character who appears consistently throughout the experiment.  Well, almost… there is an unexpected twist in the final entry that I'm still trying to figure out.

Thanks once again to all who participated.  This continues to be a very meaningful time of the year for me.
