Number 9
Revolution
That which revolves around
A central agitating center
Center-on yes
That part of me
Off balance
As I try not to cry
Wondering
And the cheap theatrics
Of it all just bother me
The trophy kept
The vain assumption
That I didn't know
You or my home well enough
To exorcise you
And strip back to
Some other level
That I think is
Solid and
Not based on the assumption
That you will be bringing
The pumpkin pie
Come November
But on the real truth
That I look out for me
Because you'd rather not
You'd rather be impartial
Unemotional
But passion in life
Can initiate more than
Emotions devoted to a cause
They can be hints of
Darker, carnal knowledge
And someone not afraid to
Say what she wants
To be responsible for her own
Arrival.

But no,
You chose long before
But the comfort stayed your
Dismissal as long as possible
And now it is too late
And the night sky
Tells me I'm fated
To try again.
