August, 2003 These texts mark many changes ends and beginnings (which are very probably one and the same). On August 16, 2003 I moved across my eucalyptus-filled backyard, from the 16-foot 1973 Airstream Argosy trailer my sweetie and I had been living in since June 2002 to the 1920 house we'd spent the better part of 2 years ripping down to the studs and rebuilding. I was almost entirely unable to combine writing with the wonderful and exhausting full-time manual labor the house reconstruction project entailed, so in a way that entire time feels to me like a dream unrecorded, time spent but not registered in language, and so, in the end, unreal and in a way unlived. These dreamy 3:15 writings are perhaps then the perfect artifacts of a time whose primary (unwritten) artifact is the space where I now live and write. Jen Hofer 29 December 2003 Santa Fe, New Mexico
